Transform Your Work-From-Home Desk into a Productivity Oasis

Hey Bestie,

Am I the only one who actually likes having a work-from-home desk in their home? I totally get the apprehension – the idea of introducing work into our sanctuary can be daunting, especially for those of us working 100% remote. There's this prevailing belief that home should be devoid of work, stress, and definitely, desks. But hey, what if our work and home coexist in the same space?

Here's how I transformed my desk from a reason for my stress to my productivity hub:

1. Reimagining the Purpose: I began by shifting my perspective. My desk wasn't just a workspace; it was a canvas for my creativity and a hub for me to find my purpose. Viewing it this way made it less of an intrusion and more of an essential part of my journey.

2. Embracing Drawer-Free Simplicity: I opted for a drawer-free desk. Why? Drawers are like the #1 suspect of clutter crimes. Spsss spsss clutter – it sneaks in and multiplies before you even notice. And clutter, as we know, leads to anxiety. A drawer-free desk encouraged me to be intentional about what I kept within arm's reach, minimizing unnecessary items and maintaining a clean, calming space.

3. Setting Boundaries: Clear boundaries were crucial. I established specific working hours and designated my desk as my official workspace. When the workday ended, I stepped away, allowing my home to return to its stress-free state.

4. Embracing the Green Vibe:

I introduced a plant, a burst of living color in my workspace. Even if you're not great with plants, having something vibrant and living can brighten your day. It connects you to the outside world, offering a touch of nature that promotes happiness. Whether it's a succulent or a faux plant, the effect is the same – an instant mood lifter.

5. Personal Touches and Mindful Decor: I adorned my desk with personal touches – motivational quotes, calming essential oils, and artwork. These mindful additions made my workspace uniquely mine. They not only encouraged a positive atmosphere but also reminded me of my purpose and passions.

So call me a debunker, I am trying!

MYTH DEBUNKED! A work-from-home desk is no longer paired with stress. With intentionality, a clutter-free environment, a touch of nature, and personal flourishes, our desks can be sources of inspiration, creativity, and yes, even happiness! Your desk is where you work to fulfill your dreams.
